CURRENT ISSUES

with the Elections now in full swing, Cllr Rouse-Deane looks back at his achievements:
  • Ledbury Road/Priory Road - is now getting the green light to get the Pedestrian Crossing and Speed restriction now that the Cemetery Work has the go ahead.
  • Dayton Road - This issue was brought up twelve months ago and Cllr Rouse-Deane is glad to see that consultation is now going ahead.
  • Shropshire Close-an issue brought to Cllr Rouse-Deane in 2005, is progressing since the Laws changed and a Petition organised.
  • Willerby Road - Cllr Rouse-Deane is glad that after his initial Complaint and recent negotiations with Council Officials and Mr Codd from Hansons that the Central Reservation will be restored to its original condition.
  • Hove Road Playing Fields, after the article in Cllr. Rouse-Deane's Newsletter, it was interesting to find that the Youth of the Area were glad of the improvements.
  • Wymersley Park- Cllr Rouse-Deane is now happy to hear that the 20MPH Zoning is forthcoming and the concern shown by attending regular meetings with RESIDENTS that the £9,000 of new Lighting is money well spent and the MUGA will soon be installed.
  • Anti Social Behaviour- Current issues in Julian close and in the shires have been of great concern and it is good to hear that peace will reign in Julian Close when the family leaves in the next few weeks.

it is nice to see that you take on board the requests of all the residents and not just a select few. The ward is a cross section of all ages and each and every one of us has a right to have something. Yes people complain about the youths on the street. Where is there for them to go? Or the senior citizens for that matter? We are all so good at knocking the children but has anyone ever asked them why they are there? The answers are plain to see where else can they go? The MUGA idea will resolve that but I think it might upset a few residents but they should ask themselves were they never children? Children have a right to be represented after all they are tomorrow's voters.

Hello, Thanks Jane for your response, yes both young and elderly need somewhere to go and some residents are banding together to see if this issue can be alleviated.
