Newsletter- February 2008

Cllr Rouse-Deane your Independent Ward Councillor is relieved that at long last residents in Derringham can now walk their children safely to school since the introduction of the 20MPH Zoneing came into operation on Wold Road.

Whilst on Wymersley Road, Cllr Rouse-Deane in January signed authorisation for New Lighting in the Park to be installed in the future, which will help residents in the area to feel safe once again in the park area.

Cllr Rouse-Deane has also signed authorisation for old rusty safety barriers on Willerby Road/ Manor Road to be replaced for safety reasons .

Whilst New Planters are being put across the Ward to enhance the aesthetics of the Ward, unanimously agreed by Ward Councillors

The NEW Hull Independents Group have voted in Council Chambers with current administration for pressure to be put on Parliament for increased funding for flooded residents in the Area.

At the January Council Meeting Cllr Rouse-Deane also voted to retain Free bus travel , which was motioned by the ruling administration though

originally it was a Policy initiated by Labour in 2005.

Last months January Council meeting also saw a further defection from the ruling administration and became Independent by Councillor Joyce Korczak Fields when she crossed the chamber at the start of the afternoon's full council meeting. In a statement, to the HDM she said she had been forced to quit the Lib Dems after suffering "bullying and threats".
