HALF TERM ACTIVITIES -FLOODED FAMILIES

Residents in the Derringham Area have been informed by Council Officials about the free activities programme that the Area Team has arranged for flood affected families during the autumn half term. Over 400 people have so far been given places on the activities, with trips to Flamingo Land and Eureka being the most popular choices.

Around 100 places are still available on the remaining activites, although these too are booking up quickly. Obviously, due to financial and space limitations, it has not been possible to give everyone who has called their first choice of activity, however no-one has been turned away for any other reason. Places remain for tenpin bowling, a trip to The Deep and a Halloween Party, for those who wish to take them up.

Due to the great popularity of this initiative, a similar programme over the Christmas holidays, may be run if funding is secured. Where people have requested places on trips that are full and have declined the offer of a place on an alternative trip, we have taken their contact details and will be getting in touch with them when a new programme of events is arranged, to give them first priority for places.
